The word “Maweni” means “between the krantzes”. The stone and thatched lodge is set amongst red ironstone mountains which offer inspiring views of the surrounding wild countryside with its dams and river below. Animals and birds are prolific and offer many wonderful photographic opportunities as you view them from vehicle, mountain bike or on foot. The tranquil lodge offers a sparkling pool to relax by on hot summer days, and you may choose to spend time on your private chalet verandah or gather at the main verandah and bar.
Maweni Lodge is situated some 280 km North of Port Elizabeth in the high mountains around Queenstown. At around 5,000 feet elevation, very cold temperatures can be expected in winter.
